What Ingredients Do I Need?

I bet that you have all of the ingredients needed to make this recipe in your kitchen already. Here’s what you’re going to need:

  • Eggs
  • Unsweetened vanilla almond milk (any milk will work)
  • Coconut sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Maple syrup

Making the French Toast

You’re going to start off by toasting your frozen waffles in a toaster or conventional oven. I recommend keeping them on the softer side since you’re going to be cooking them further when you turn them into french toast.

While the waffles are toasting, grab a bowl and whisk together the egg, almond milk, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined. Place a pan over medium heat on the stove and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Take your cooked waffles and dunk them one at a time into the egg mixture. Press the waffle down so it can soak up as much mixture as possible. Allow any excess to drip off, then transfer the waffle to the pan on medium heat. Repeat for the second waffle.

Let the waffles cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they start to brown. Transfer them from the pan to a plate once they’re done cooking. Top with maple syrup and any fresh berries you have!

Toppings

This waffle french toast is absolutely incredible as is, but you can totally make it better with the toppings you add. I love maple syrup and fresh strawberries, but here are some other toppings that would taste amazing:

  • Greek yogurt
  • Whipped cream
  • Drizzle of nut butter
  • Chocolate hazelnut spread
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Sliced bananas
  • Crushed nuts
  • Marshmallow fluff
