Raspberry-Mango Smoothie Bowl

Jump to Recipe

Smoothie bowls are a staple breakfast of mine all year round, not just in the summer. Anyone else? There’s something about a creamy and cold smoothie bowl that just gives your morning an extra boost. Raspberry and mango are the perfect combinations of sweet and tart that give this smoothie bowl the best flavor! You are going to love this raspberry-mango smoothie bowl for a quick, delicious, and nutritious breakfast.

Sometimes when I drink smoothies, they don’t totally fill me up. Maybe it’s because I drink them too fast (whoops), or maybe it’s because I need more food. When you drink a smoothie, you’re actually skipping a whole step of the digestion process since there is no chewing required, so that is a factor in why they don’t keep you full! Regardless, smoothies are a great snack for me, but not a meal. I’ve found that making smoothies into bowls and adding toppings make them a lot more filling because I eat them slower and add more fruit and healthy fats. This raspberry-mango smoothie bowl was filling, delicious, and topped with all the goods!

What Ingredients Do I Need?

Smoothie bowls are great because they only require a few ingredients for a delicious base. You can go wild with the toppings, but the actual base is so simple. Here is everything you will need for a raspberry-mango smoothie bowl base:

The Blending Process

Smoothie bowls can get a little tricky during the blending process. Smoothies are easier because you can add more liquid in order to make it blend better. When it comes to smoothie bowls, the goal is to add as little liquid as possible in order to make it thick and rich. A good blender is ideal for this raspberry-mango smoothie bowl recipe. I’ll link the one I use here which can be purchased on Amazon.

When you’re blending a smoothie bowl, you want to start off with less liquid then you think you need. You can always add more, but you can’t take away. I’m going to share with you the key to getting a thick smoothie bowl. You need to start blending, and as soon as the blade is no longer blending anything, you need to shake it up. Yup, shake it like a shake weight. Instead of just constantly adding liquid, you need to shake the blender and even get a spoon to mix everything up. It can be hard for the fruit to mix around, so you need to give it a little help! Of course, if you have a big high-speed blender, this process will be easier. You can just stick a spoon in there while it’s blending. If you’re working with a magic bullet like me, get ready to shake!

Toppings

This is where it gets fun! Once everything is blended up, you can add whatever fruit, nuts, granola, or seeds you desire. The possibilities are endless! For my raspberry-mango smoothie bowl, I added fresh strawberries, blackberries, granola, chia seeds, and peanut butter on top. Here are some other toppings which would be amazing:

  • Any nut butter
  • Cacao nibs
  • Shredded coconut
  • Honey
  • Bananas
  • Blueberries
  • Cereal
  • Hemp seeds

I’m going to give you a little secret…When you’re making a smoothie bowl, get your toppings all ready to go before you start blending. You don’t want to have to worry about your smoothie bowl melting while you cut your fruit and find the bag of granola. Get everything ready to go beforehand, so that once the smoothie is blended, you can just top it and enjoy!
