Confidence Tips That Don’t Involve Weight Loss

Confidence…something that so many people struggle with, including myself. So often, gaining confidence is tied to how our body looks and the ways we can change it. News flash, that’s not going to change much.

I’m sharing my top 10 tips for gaining confidence that have nothing to do with your weight and that you can start doing TODAY!

Confidence

1. Listen to music or a podcast while you walk

Going on a walk itself is something that makes me feel confident. I know that “hot girl walks” got a reputation this summer, so if that works for you, go for it.

I like walking because it gives me time to be away from my thoughts and work. My favorite part about walking is listening to a podcast I enjoy or my favorite music. Especially listening to music that you LOVE is such a game changer. It totally changes the way you walk and can boost your confidence!

2. Wear clothes that make YOU feel good

We may know the clothes that we think we should wear because others wear them, but what about the clothes that we like? The quickest way to decrease confidence is wearing clothes that are uncomfortable and don’t fit.

The best thing I ever did for myself and my confidence was investing in clothes that actually fit and that I find attractive. When clothes fit properly, it’s a total game changer for gaining confidence! When we feel good, it’s going to radiate. Remember, clothes are meant to fit us, we’re not meant to fit the clothes.

3. Utilize accessories

Accessories are another go-to of mine when I need a confident moment in my life. I love wearing gold rings and gold hoop earrings. Something about them just makes me feel so put together and more like myself.

Even though other people may not notice them, they’re small things that make me feel better and more confident. Find fun accessories that make you feel good, even if no one else notices them. If you feel confident, others will feel it.

4. Paint your nails

Painting my nails PLUS wearing rings is like an all-time confidence boost for me. I don’t know what it is about having freshly painted nails with rings on, but I just feel like I can take on the world. Anyone else!?

Now, I don’t have the funds to be investing in gel manicures every couple weeks, so just using regular polish from the store or purchasing an at-home gel manicure kit works perfectly!

5. Watch your posture

The way you present yourself is a reflection of your confidence. Standing tall with your shoulders down isn’t only beneficial for your health, but it can really up your confidence game!

You are that person. You are the person who has it all, even if you don’t believe it yourself yet. It’s about finding the little things that make you feel better, starting with walking with confidence and purpose!

Confidence

6. Surround yourself with people that make you feel good

I’m the type of person who prefers to have a few close friends vs. a lot of friends. When you surround yourself with people who genuinely enjoy being around you and lift you up, your confidence will show it.

7. Find movement that you actually enjoy

Now, I’m not telling you to find movement that you should do or ways to make you lose weight. I’m asking you to find movement that you look forward to doing and that brings you joy, because you’re going to feel like a new person.

For me, it’s Pilates and walking, but for you it may be something totally different. It’s all about experimentation!

8. It’s all in the shoes

Shoes are a make or break when it comes to finding an outfit for me. I love having a few options that I can go to and that make me feel comfortable. When you feel comfortable, you’ll feel confident.

On a side note, there is no better way to boost confidence than wearing heels and hearing them click on the floor. You know exactly what I mean…

9. Tell people the small wins

If something small happens in your life that feels insignificant, tell someone! Odds are that they’ll have a bigger reaction than you did. I’m not saying that gaining confidence solely comes from others, but it can be nice to receive some validation that you didn’t know you needed.

10. Take compliments with grace

Receiving compliments is truly a gift that takes time to get. When you receive a compliment, don’t brush it off or apologize. Say thank you and recognize it! Someone is taking time to tell you something positive about yourself, don’t apologize for it. Own it and realize what a great person you are.

I hope that these tips help you gain confidence and feel strong in the body you’re in. You are beautiful, kind, and a great person…it’s time to show the world!

xoxo
